Southport Day Hospital is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking nursing leader to oversee clinical operations while driving strategic service growth and referrer engagement.

The successful candidate will lead a highly experienced peri-operative team and partner with medical specialists and referrers to strengthen service demand and long-term sustainability.

About the Role
This position provides operational leadership of the theatre and procedure services while actively implementing initiatives to increase service utilisation through professional engagement and strategic business development.
The role balances clinical governance, team leadership and stakeholder engagement to support sustainable service growth aligned with organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Operations & Leadership
* Provide operational and professional leadership to the theatre nursing team
* Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
* Oversee staffing, workflow management and resource allocation
* Maintain compliance with accreditation standards, policies and best practice
* Promote a collaborative, respectful and accountable team culture
* Monitor clinical performance, patient experience and quality outcomes
Business Development & Referrer Engagement
* Develop and implement strategies to increase theatre and procedure utilisation
* Identify and engage surgeons, dentists and specialists aligned to service capability
* Build professional relationships with referrers and practice managers
* Conduct external visits and represent the hospital within the healthcare community
* Coordinate professional engagement activities and events
* Monitor and report on growth initiatives and outcomes
* Contribute to operational planning and service improvement initiatives
* Provide insights on market opportunities and service expansion
* Support organisational objectives through data-informed decision making
What You will bring
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Demonstrated leadership experience in perioperative or day hospital settings
* Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to balance operational priorities with strategic initiatives
* Commitment to quality improvement and patient-centred care
* Professional integrity and sound clinical judgement
