Job Role
The role of a rehabilitation consultant involves working with clients to identify goals and provide psychological or physical supports to help them live life to the fullest. Our team works together to improve return to work outcomes through workplace rehabilitation, counseling, injury prevention, and employment support.
* We conduct case management, applying clinical knowledge to achieve successful return to work outcomes.
* We develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs with employers and employees.
* We collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical, and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
* We work across various schemes, including workers compensation, CTP, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs.
* We assist clients in achieving return to health and return to work outcomes.
* We conduct initial, worksite, and vocational assessments to support return to health, work, and life goals.
* We provide injury prevention and consultancy services, such as group mental health training, Employee Assistance Program services, Psychological Functional Capacity Evaluations, and Adjustment to Injury Counseling.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, social work, or occupational therapy are required. General or provisional AHPRA registration, or full ASORC/AASW membership is necessary. Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is preferred. Strong communication and time management skills are essential. Compassion, kindness, and empathy are crucial for success in this role.
