Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Belmore Boys' High School specialises in boys' education, focusing on the academic, social and emotional growth of its students. Set in southwestern Sydney, its 640 students and 70 teaching and non-teaching staff form a community that focuses on the holistic development of each of its members. The diverse student population represents 35 languages with 98% of students from language backgrounds other than English. With a FOI of 142 and ICSEA of 948, school operations are underpinned by leading excellence for equity in the pursuit of exceptional post school outcomes. The learning environment at BBHS provides students with tailored learning experiences through planned, explicit and differentiated learning activities. The school also offers a wide curriculum allowing students to successfully transition into a diverse range of future learning and employment opportunities. BBHS takes pride in being an inclusive community, working closely with local partners to ensure success for its students. The successful candidate will be a dynamic educator who can demonstrate impactful design and implementation of high-performance teaching and learning culture through capacity building in students, high expectations and engagement with the community.

Specific Selection Criteria

* Approval to teach English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D).
* Capacity to work effectively in a culturally and linguistically diverse school community, including supporting students from refugee and migrant backgrounds and delivering differentiated programs using the EAL/D Learning Progression to improve literacy outcomes across KLAs while fostering inclusive relationships within the School community.
* Strong collaborative practice, including the ability to work with mainstream teachers to embed EAL/D strategies across the curriculum and contribute to whole-school literacy and targeted support initiatives.
* Effective classroom management and commitment to student engagement and wellbeing, including the ability to create structured, supportive learning environments using culturally responsive practices in a boys' education setting.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
