We are seeking a talented and experienced RF Communications Engineer to help define the future of lunar surface communications in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.In this role, you’ll be instrumental in designing, testing and validating cutting-edge radio frequency (RF) systems and subsystems for spaceflight applications. You’ll be contributing to a wide range of challenging and innovative projects, many of which are the first of their kind.Key Responsibilities:Design and development of RF communication systems for lunar surface platformsIntegration of RF subsystems into spaceflight hardware and robotic systemsAntenna design, simulation and testing for space-based applicationsConducting hardware validation including link budget analysis, EMI/EMC testing and radiation tolerance assessmentSupporting the manufacture and assembly of RF components and circuit boardsCollaborating across engineering disciplines to ensure end-to-end system performanceTroubleshooting and resolving complex RF system issues across development and qualification phasesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field3+ years of industry experience in RF systems design and testingDemonstrated experience in RF circuit and PCB designFamiliarity with modulation schemes, RF filtering, impedance matching and communication protocolsExperience with testing and qualification standards, including EMI/EMC and radiation effectsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to lead and guide RF hardware developmentDesired Qualifications:Previous experience in a startup and/or aerospace environmentFlexibility to manage and prioritise multiple projects in a fast-moving settingExperience with radiation-hardened RF components and upset mitigation techniquesKnowledge of space communication standards and regulatory complianceAt Lunar Outpost, we believe in building a respectful and inclusive environment.
