Empact is expanding and looking for freelance street interviewers to help capture real opinions from Australians on the issues shaping the country.
You'll be conducting Vox Pop interviews with members of the public on politics, news, and current affairs — filming short conversations that will be published across our social media platforms reaching hundreds of thousands of Australians.
This is a flexible freelance role ideal for aspiring journalists, media students, content creators, or confident communicators interested in politics and public debate.
What you'll do
* Conduct on-the-street Vox Pop interviews with members of the public
* Ask clear, engaging questions about Australian politics and current affairs
* Film interviews using a smartphone or camera
* Capture clear audio and stable video suitable for social media
* Send raw footage to our editorial team after filming
What we're looking for
* Confident approaching and speaking with strangers in public
* Strong interest in Australian politics, news, and current affairs
* Comfortable on camera and able to keep conversations engaging
* Able to film steady, high-quality video using a smartphone or camera
* Reliable, professional, and self-motivated
* Based in Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, or Perth
Journalism, media, or content experience is a bonus but not required.
Commitment Pay
Freelance hourly rate — negotiable based on experience
