Due to growing after-sales demand, we are seeking an experienced Caravan Workshop Technician – Service & Warranty to join our Pakenham workshop.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role focused on service, diagnostics, warranty repairs, and aftermarket installations.
You will be responsible for identifying faults, determining repair solutions, estimating labour and parts, and carrying out high-quality repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
This role suits an experienced caravan / RV technician who understands how caravans work as a complete system, not just individual components.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Service & Warranty Diagnostics
* Diagnose service and warranty issues across caravan systems
* Identify root causes and determine repair methods
* Prepare repair plans including required parts, labour time, and repair approach
* Carry out warranty repairs in line with company standards and procedures
🔌 Electrical & Energy Systems
* Diagnose and repair 12V & 240V electrical systems
* Install and service:
o Lithium battery systems
o Battery Management Systems (BMS)
o Inverters and chargers
o Solar systems and regulators
* Fault-finding power issues, charging faults, and load problems
🚿 Plumbing & Appliances
* Diagnose and repair water systems, pumps, taps, and leaks
* Service and replace:
o Hot water systems (gas / electric)
o Diesel heaters
o Fridges, cooktops, and other caravan appliances
⚙️ Mechanical & Chassis Work
* Perform mechanical servicing including:
o Wheel bearings servicing
o Brake inspections and adjustments
o Suspension checks
o Wheel alignment (or alignment preparation)
* Identify wear, damage, and safety-related issues
🧰 Accessories & Upgrades
* Carry out customer-paid upgrades and installations, including:
o Inverters and battery upgrades
o Diesel heaters
o Additional accessories and aftermarket components
* Ensure installations are safe, compliant, and neatly finished
📋 Workshop & Documentation
* Complete service reports, warranty documentation, and job records
* Assist with pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and quality checks
* Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in caravan, RV, or motorhome servicing & repairs
* Strong diagnostic ability across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
* Hands-on experience with:
o Lithium batteries & BMS
o Inverters and charging systems
o Diesel heaters
o General caravan servicing and maintenance
* Ability to estimate repair time and required parts accurately
* High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Ability to work independently and manage service jobs from start to finish
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence (towing experience advantageous)
* Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Current Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application
