Community Educator Job Description
The position involves providing support and education to individuals impacted by problem gambling. This includes the affected individual, their family and friends, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with community organisations and venues to promote the Gambling Help Service and establish referral pathways.
- Provide information sessions within the community and other agencies on problem gambling and how to seek help.
- Maintain relationships with Indigenous Communities through consultation and community engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree in social work, psychology or behavioural science is required.
- Ability to implement psycho-social and risk assessment skills during client contact is essential.
- Facilitation skills in a group or individual setting with diverse clients are necessary.
- Experience working with addiction is desirable.
