Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our growing team. The successful candidate will perform all aspects of carpentry work, particularly formwork and structural carpentry associated with concrete construction project. This role requires proficiency in interpreting plans and specifications, measuring and cutting materials, assembling formwork and frameworks, and collaborating effectively on-site to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
* Construct, assemble, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete slabs, columns, footings, driveways, retaining walls and other structural elements.
* Build framework and supports for various concrete structures, including house slabs and commercial projects.
* Cut, shape, and join timber and other materials using hand and power tools.
* Measure and mark out construction lines and reference points.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment and adhere to WHS policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with concreters, earthwork operators, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
* Inspect and repair existing frameworks or formwork when necessary.
* Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and company procedures.
Skills and Experience Required
* Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification
* Minimum of 1 years' relevant experience in carpentry, with a strong emphasis on formwork and structural construction.
* Proficient knowledge of concrete and construction practices, particularly in formwork systems.
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings accurately.
* Competence in the use of carpentry tools and equipment.
* Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices and a commitment to workplace safety.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in diverse environments.
* Construction Induction White Card (mandatory).
* Valid driver's licence (preferred).
