Leadership Opportunity for Experienced Sous Chefs
We are seeking an accomplished Sous Chef to take on a leadership role in our vibrant and expressive brunch cafe. As Head Chef, you will oversee daily food preparation and lead a close-knit kitchen team.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Sous Chef to step into their first Head Chef position. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking fresh baked goods and modern brunch dishes, managing breakfast and lunch service, and maintaining high standards of food presentation and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook fresh baked goods and modern brunch dishes
* Manage breakfast and lunch service including hot and cold menu items
* Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste, and consistency
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met
* Lead and inspire a supportive kitchen team
* Oversee kitchen prep, stock rotation, and ordering
* Train and supervise kitchen assistants as needed
* Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen at all times
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
* Food Safety Supervisor certificate (preferred)
* Dough handling / pizza making experience (preferred)
* Breakfast Chef experience (preferred)
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience
* 2–3 years of relevant industry experience
* Flexible availability
* Valid Working Visa or Australian Citizenship
