Join Our Team as a Sous Chef
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Peppina, Hobart's signature restaurant. As Sous Chef, you will exhibit your culinary talents by performing tasks and assisting in leading staff and managing all food-related functions. Your role will improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance across all responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities
* Assist in overseeing all kitchen areas, ensuring a consistent, high‐quality product.
* Establish and uphold culinary standards and activities to achieve excellence.
* Maintain high culinary standards and responsibilities, ensuring exceptional customer service.
* Mentor and develop kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Manage all food preparation areas, including banquets, room service, Mary Mary bar, and Deco lounge.
* Oversee support areas such as stewarding and purchasing.
Profile
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef and a Chef trade qualification.
* Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate a team, leading by example.
* Strong relationships with producers, ensuring quality sourced produce.
* Impeccable attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
* Willingness to take initiative and make sound business decisions.
* A genuine passion for cooking and a strong customer service focus.
* Current knowledge of culinary trends and industry best practices with a growth mindset.
* Determination and reliability, with availability to work late nights and weekends as required.
