As a Youth Worker in our Residential Care and Intensive Therapeutic Houses, you'll support young people aged 11-18. This complex care requires strength, emotional maturity, and the ability to stay calm and consistent - no two days are the same, but everyday matters. You'll have a supportive team around you and house supervisors who are actively involved to support you.
CatholicCare is growing! We're opening new Intensive Therapeutic Houses across Sydney, including Thornleigh, Waitara, Artarmon, West Pymble, Turramurra, Ashbury, and Roseville - creating exciting new opportunities for Youth Workers
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting young people to feel safe, respected and at home
* Applying trauma-informed, therapeutic approaches in daily care
* Building trusting relationships with young people who have experienced adversity
* Supporting life skills, routines and emotional regulation
* Working as part of a supportive, values-driven team
This role operates on a 24/7 roster, including morning, afternoon, night, sleepover and awake shifts.

What we're looking for
* Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent
* Experience in youth work or residential care
* Ability to work therapeutically with young people with complex needs
* NSW Driver's Licence
* Working With Children Check & Criminal History Check
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified candidates
Formal qualifications are desirable, however lived experience, relevant skills and willingness to participate in training are highly valued.
