We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer (onshore) on an initial 12-month contract to lead commissioning activities for a major brownfields process plant.
This role will report to the Construction & Commissioning Manager and working closely with the Project Site Manager, this role will oversee commissioning across multiple disciplines — mechanical, process, electrical and instrumentation, piping, and controls — while coordinating civils, SMP, E&I, and fabrication subcontractors on site.
* Location: Kwinana, WA (site-based)
* Roster: Monday–Friday, 10-hour days (additional hours may be required during shutdowns)
* Contract Duration: 12 months
* Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a positive team leadership and commitment to HSE
* Prepare for and ensure all preparation/readiness is completed for upcoming pre-commissioning and
commissioning scopes for the Project.
* Safety and Environmental targets and objectives for project are met.
* Definition and Implementation of commissioning strategy related to commissioning, start-up and
handover to operations.
* Ensures the commissioning process, preparation and execution is managed, planned, documented,
resourced whilst meeting technical requirements.
* Liaise with the Project team including engineering, construction, completions and project controls
along with stakeholders on priorities, ensuring Project schedule is achieved.
* Provide input to commissioning and start-up strategy by providing technical support and resolution of
issues relating to start-up and operations.
* Management and owner of completions process, system handovers and punch closure
* Familiar with interfaces and input into completions system
Skills and Experience:
* Trade or tertiary qualification in mechanical, process, or a related discipline.
* Commissioning experience within oil and gas or heavy process facilities, including at least 10 years in construction and start-up.
* Strong experience in onshore brownfields and operational environments.
* In-depth understanding of permit-to-work systems, isolations, and completions processes.
