Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at Punjabi Palace Cairns on a full‐time basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role and possess a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant and ensuring that our guests receive the highest level of service. You will also manage the restaurant's budget, maintain inventory levels, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee all aspects of the restaurant's operations, including staff, inventory, and budget
* Train, supervise, and motivate staff to provide exceptional service to guests
* Create and maintain a positive and professional working environment for all team members
* Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
* Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure availability of ingredients and supplies
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
* Handle customer complaints and resolve any issues in a timely and effective manner
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure the quality and consistency of food and beverage offerings
* Create and update menus in collaboration with the head chef
* Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address any concerns, and gather feedback
* Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling of staff members
* Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the restaurant
* Monitor and analyse sales and financial reports to identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
* Minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role
* Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification preferred
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Strong customer service and problem‐solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends and best practices
* Proficiency in MS Office and restaurant management software
* Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
Salary and Benefits:
This is a full‐time position with a salary range of $75,000 to $82,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer opportunities for career growth and development within our organization.
