Who we are looking for 
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join our Enterprise Tax Team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating direct income tax returns and filings for ANZ and Oceania region entities, as well as preparing and coordinating current and deferred tax calculations and financial report disclosures. Additionally, you will handle other compliance obligations such as calculation of monthly income tax instalments by AU Group, withholding tax obligations, and maintaining franking account and franking forecast calculations. 
Responsibilities 
- Working closely with the tax and finance teams, to prepare all current and deferred tax calculations for the Group’s ANZ and Oceania tax reporting processes including completing any necessary reporting schedules, financial report disclosures, book to return true ups and associated tax journal entries, with minimal supervision. 
- Prepare and/or liaise with external advisors to coordinate the preparation and review of income tax returns, associated schedules, and filings for ANZ and Oceania entities, ensuring timely and accurate lodgement of all obligations including completion of all necessary tax research, analysis and preparing supporting documentation relevant to a significant global entity to substantiate positions taken in the returns. 
- Prepare monthly income tax instalment calculations, and complete the necessary ATO lodgements. 
- Work closely with relevant teams to update the Australian franking account balance and franking forecast on a monthly basis. 
- Attend to monthly Australian withholding tax obligations including coordination of payment. 
- Undertake research and analysis and preparation of file notes / memos in respect of various corporate and international tax matters as required, such as application of active income test, controlled foreign companies, permanent establishments, hybrid mismatches and other special projects. 
- Review processes and monitor inputs to ensure information is robust, accurate, relevant, and supports decision-making while meeting regulatory and other requirements. Maintain and update internal tax compliance procedure manuals. 
- Enhance and integrate tax systems and processes, including the development and utilization of intelligent automation solutions. 
- Keep abreast of international tax developments, tax law changes and other emerging issues relating to the Group, AU and relevant regions and provide advice on impacts in a timely manner. 
- Assist with ad hoc tax projects and other tax matters/initiatives as required. 
What you will bring 
- At least 5 years of experience in a large corporate or Big 4 firm, including experience in preparation of Australian tax compliance obligations relevant to significant global entities 
- Strong tax technical and tax effect accounting and reporting knowledge 
- Experience and knowledge in tax legislation as applicable to large corporate entities 
- CA/CPA and TIA qualifications, with post-graduate tax qualifications highly regarded 
- Experience using CCH Global Integrator is desirable 
- Experience in management of offshore tax compliance 
- Proactive problem-solving, research and analysis skills 
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities 
- Robust communications skills with all levels in an organization, particularly the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in simple and commercially useful terms
