Job Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to take on a key role in our Commercial QS Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring the financial and physical performance of projects against order targets, driving best value from suppliers/subcontractors and internal resources to maximize project profitability and company process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Developing a thorough understanding of project specifications, pricing structures, programs, and contractual conditions.
* Reviewing and assisting with the negotiation and agreement of client/main contractor contract documentation.
* Assisting other departments with pre-start planning and programming.
* Managing supplier/subcontractor commercial management, including variation accounts and processing requests for payment.
* Attending external and internal project-related meetings, recording actions, agreements, and unresolved matters.
* Recording and tracking progress by internal departments and external suppliers/subcontractors in relation to agreed project programs.
* Managing day-to-day company cost control, monitoring, and reporting systems, recommending and implementing improvements.
* Analyzing internal reporting systems, design, procurement, and construction, providing feedback on quality and content.
* Providing advice to staff on commercial and contractual matters, reviewing and drafting correspondence.
* Measuring, valuing, submitting, and negotiating contract variations with clients and supply chains as necessary.

People Management:

The successful Quantity Surveyor will also be responsible for:

* Becoming a valued, respected, and trusted member of each project team.
* Communicating regularly with all necessary Project staff, ensuring commercial controls are in place, understood, and adhered to at all times.
* Managing direct reports, ensuring they understand requirements, perform to standards, meet set targets, and receive appropriate training when needed.
