Commis Chef

About The Role
As a
Commis Chef
, you'll support the kitchen team in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes across a variety of stations. From chopping and portioning to plating and presentation, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You'll work closely with senior chefs, follow recipes and standards, and maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare ingredients including chopping, portioning, and storing food
* Cook and present dishes according to recipes and quality standards
* Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and microwaves
* Monitor food quality and test dishes for doneness
* Set up and break down workstations efficiently
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment
* Follow food safety procedures and temperature checks
* Assist in preparing cold foods and mise-en-place for service
* Support the team during busy service periods
* Report maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management
* Uphold company policies, safety standards, and grooming expectations
About You
* At least 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred)
* Passionate about cooking and eager to learn new techniques
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
* Able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Physically fit and able to stand, lift, and move throughout shifts
* Clear communicator with a positive attitude
* Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
