Company profile: A leading Australian-based digital asset platform operating within a regulated financial services environment, the organisation provides secure trading, custody, and infrastructure services for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets.
My client is seeking a CA or CPA-qualified Accountant with 3 years of experience to join their Sydney-based finance team. This is a newly created, broad, and hands‐on role covering core accounting activities including financial reporting, tax compliance, and day‐to‐day financial operations.
You will work closely with a high‐performing local finance team and gain valuable exposure to digital asset accounting within a regulated, fast‐paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in the fintech or cryptocurrency sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain the fixed asset register
* Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with AASB / IFRS
* Assist with BAS, GST, FBT, and income tax compliance, working alongside external tax advisors
* Support the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors and preparing audit documentation
* Contribute to improvements in finance processes, internal controls, and system workflows
* Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to the Financial Controller and CFO
Skills & Experience
* CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
* Minimum of 3 years' accounting experience, ideally with a background in public practice (Big 4 or mid-tier)
* Strong knowledge of AASB / IFRS
* High attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach to reconciliations and reporting
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a small team
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience in financial services, fintech, or a regulated environment
* A demonstrated interest in cryptocurrency, digital assets, or fintech
