Strategic Policy and External Relations is seeking a highly capable Principal Correspondence Officer, skilled in providing high-level advice and support to senior officers and managing executive documentation, including Cabinet and parliamentary materials, in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will coordinate a high volume of confidential, often complex and sensitive correspondence and written materials for the Office of the Deputy Director-General. Responsibilities Include
* Provide advice to senior officers and leadership to other staff to ensure consistency and adherence to departmental standards and processes, to ensure the effectiveness, quality of service delivery and the achievement of outcomes of the division.
* Organise and lead training, forums and information sessions for staff within the division on corporate governance issues including the quality assurance processes and the application of departmental standards and processes.
* Coordinate and manage Cabinet related documentation, reports, briefing material and correspondence for the Deputy Director-General and other senior officers on significant portfolio issues.
* Analyse the content and requirements of correspondence, information and briefing/cabinet requests to determine where the request is required to be actioned, undertaking investigation, research and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
* Contribute to the achievement of high-quality services by continually seeking improvements in executive correspondence systems and processes and leading by example.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing a high volume of confidential and complex correspondence and written materials, with the ability to adhere to required organisational standards.
* Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, maintain positive relationships and achieve successful outcomes within a pressured environment and under specific deadlines.
* High level of knowledge and proven ability to work within the processes and systems used to manage a large volume of executive documents while maintaining confidentiality.
