Database Migration Program Lead
This is a pivotal role that will drive a fundamental shift in infrastructure, boosting scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency across the organization. You'll be instrumental in defining, planning, and executing this program, collaborating closely with engineering teams, product managers, and various stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition for all product teams.
The program's primary objective is to migrate existing databases to managed cloud services, leveraging AWS's robust infrastructure and database technologies. This requires a deep understanding of database migration methodologies, as well as experience working with complex technical programs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Defining and driving the overall program strategy and roadmap for migrating databases to AWS managed services.
* Managing detailed program plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
* Collaborating closely with infrastructure, database, and product engineering teams to understand current database landscapes, identify migration challenges, and define effective strategies.
Requirements include:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a similar role managing complex technical programs.
* Proficiency in AWS and extensive experience with core AWS infrastructure services.
* Demonstrated experience with database technologies and a strong understanding of database migration methodologies.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
