About the role
Join our Service Planning Strategy Unit at the Ministry of Health for an exciting ongoing employment opportunity to help shape the future of health services in New South Wales. This senior leadership role offers a unique opportunity to lead statewide service planning for the public health system in NSW. You will lead a small team to drive service configuration and investment strategies, integrating with other statewide initiatives and working in close collaboration with Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks, and other NSW Health organisations.
Working in a dedicated team of professionals, you will champion a transparent and coordinated planning approach overseen by the Ministry. This is your chance to influence meaningful change and improve outcomes across NSW.
What you'll be doing
1. Leading a small team of project and planning officers to implement a statewide planning framework and develop statewide service plans
2. Managing complex statewide planning processes to give effect to organisational strategies and priorities
3. Providing high level planning and policy analysis and advice to NSW Health executives
4. Championing the integration of planning functions and maturing capability of integrated planning for NSW Health in collaboration with branch colleagues and other NSW Health stakeholders
About you
5. Extensive experience in health service planning in a large, complex health system
6. Superior interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
7. A deep understanding of the complexities of public health systems, policy frameworks, and service delivery models in NSW
8. A growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and personal development
