The Team
The Injury Management (IM) team is responsible for providing high level advice and working in partnership with Department of Health (DoH) business units to ensure effective management of workers' compensation matters, injury management and return to work activities. We are a values based team who work collaboratively with workers and business units to provide a responsive, contemporary, inclusive approach to assisting workers recover from injury. The working environment is largely office based but may require occasional intrastate travel. Please note, this role can be filled in either Hobart or Launceston.
The Role
As an Injury Management Coordinator (IMC) you will be responsible for the following:
* Undertaking case management of workers' compensation claims.
* Assisting business units with management of non‐compensable injury/illness.
* Facilitating and coordinating return to work programs and undertaking duties associated with operational Injury Management, Work Health and Safety and Wellbeing (WHS&W) in the workplace.
* Providing support to the IM team to ensure operational compliance with workers compensation legislation and Employment Direction No 29 – Managing employees absent from the workplace.
You will need
* Sound knowledge of and high-level experience in contemporary WHS, including wellbeing, and Injury Management practices with demonstrated understanding of injury management processes.
* Working knowledge of state legislation in relation to injury prevention and management, including the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988; the Work Health & Safety Act 2012 and Employment Direction No 29 – Managing employees absent from the workplace.
* Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including managers, employees, their representatives, treating medical practitioners and industrial organisations.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full‐time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Completion of, or undertaking, Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management or an equivalent qualification.
