Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Senior Avionics Design Engineer to support a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail. The role can be based in Brisbane, Amberley, Williamtown, or Adelaide.
Responsibilities
* Work as a senior member with the team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
* Provide technical leadership in delivering minor and major capability upgrades to the platform from the concept stage to aircraft in service.
* Develop installation designs for equipment, producing engineering artefacts according to Boeing processes & specs, and the platform EMS.
* Develop repair & modification instructions for integration into the existing aircraft in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System.
* Perform Electrical Design Integration, Electrical Load Analysis, Wire design and integration.
* Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting.
* Support the organization in developing people-first, team capability, as well as supporting process and tool developments.
Qualifications & Experience
* A Bachelor Engineering qualification in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical or a related tertiary Engineering degree satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
* The ability to obtain RPEQ within 18 months is required.
* 7+ years experience in aviation engineering activities including design development, engineering investigations and issuance of authorised documentation relating to aircraft structure, mechanical and subsystem designs.
* Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within a regulated aviation environment such as the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment or similar (CASA, FAA, EASA, etc.).
