We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our team in Currambine, responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating large-scale asset inspection programs for our Australian power utility & other sector clients. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient resource deployment, compliance with client requirements, and the successful delivery of inspection outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain detailed work plans and schedules for asset inspections across networks.
* Coordinate resource allocation (inspectors, vehicles, equipment) to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
* Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans to accommodate operational changes, client priorities, or external factors such as weather.
* Act as a key point of contact with clients planning and operational teams.
* Translate client inspection volumes, timelines, and geographic requirements into executable field plans.
* Provide progress updates, reporting, and issue resolution to internal and external stakeholders.
* Work closely with field supervisors to ensure planned work aligns with on-the-ground capabilities.
* Ensure all dispatched work orders are progressing correctly, investigating issues such as incomplete poles, duplicate assets, or unplanned/overdue tasks.
* Maintain accurate records of work allocation, progress, and completion using project management and client systems.
* Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly planning reports for internal management and client review.
* Monitor WIP, claims, and scheduling revisions, providing updates to customers and internal teams.
* Identify opportunities to streamline planning, scheduling, and coordination processes.
* Mentor and support junior planners or coordinators as required.
Skills and Experience Required
* 3+ years\' experience in workforce planning, scheduling, or operations management, ideally within field services, utilities, or construction.
* Proven ability to plan and manage large-scale, geographically dispersed field programs.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, including complex data analysis and modelling using MS Excel, Smartsheet, and Power BI.
* Experience in planning and scheduling software and field workforce management systems.
* Knowledge of utility asset inspections and distribution networks (highly regarded).
* Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
