Electrical supervisor

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on, licenced Electrical Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the FMCG industry.

The role is based at a poultry processing site and involves supervising a small electrical team, supporting high-speed production operations, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise a team of 2 electricians, ensuring all work complies with company procedures, safety, and food hygiene standards
* Lead electrical maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement activities within a poultry processing environment
* Prepare and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Apply basic engineering design concepts in conjunction with the leading hand/supervisor
* Commission programmable controller (PLC) programs
* Undertake commissioning procedures for new or modified plant and poultry processing equipment
* Fault find, test, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation sensors, transmitters, and final control elements
* Maintain and service analog and digital equipment
* Maintain, repair, and tune single-loop and multi-loop control instrumentation systems
* Perform control loop tuning, including multi-controller and multi-element systems
* Perform precision electronic measurements and mathematical computations
* Fault find, repair, modify, and rectify complex electrical circuits and systems
* Interpret technical specifications, manuals, and electrical schematics
* Safely isolate and shutdown machinery and processing equipment
* Communicate effectively with individuals and small groups across production, QA, and engineering teams
* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and elevated work platforms (EWP)
* Enter confined spaces in accordance with site safety procedures
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene suitable for a poultry processing facility
* Perform any other task incidental or peripheral to carrying out work relevant to this classification level

Required Qualifications & Experience

* Hold an Electirican's (A Grade) Licence
* Minimum 5 years' experience in FMCG manufacturing, ideally within poultry, meat, or food processing sites
* Strong knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, control systems, MCCs, and industrial automation
* Proven experience supervising small electrical teams
* Solid understanding of electrical isolation, food safety requirements, and statutory compliance
