Overview
Petron Australia Pty Ltd, a proud partner of Ampol Petroleum and a locally owned fuel, oil and retail business, invites applications for the position of Retail Manager at our busy service station in Ulladulla, NSW 2539. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full operational, financial, staffing and compliance management of the site. This role requires a hands‑on leader with strong organisational skills, a high level of customer service, and the ability to oversee a wide range of fuel‑retail operational activities.
Our site operates Beacon POS and back‑office systems ; the ability to quickly learn fuel‑industry point‑of‑sale, back‑office software and compliance requirements is essential.

Responsibilities
* Plan, organise, direct and coordinate daily retail operations
* Oversee console operations, customer transactions and cash handling
* Monitor equipment, pumps and electrical systems for safety and compliance
* Maintain store presentation, merchandising and promotional standards
* Manage fuel operations including daily dips, meter reads and variance checks
* Manage ordering, stock rotation and waste minimisation
* Conduct regular stocktakes and reconcile discrepancies
* Liaise with suppliers, vendors and contractors
* Complete daily reporting, reconciliation, balancing and banking
* Monitor budgets, margins, expenses and performance KPIs
* Prepare operational, financial and stock reports
* Implement cost‑control and waste‑minimisation strategies
* Recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff
* Prepare rosters and manage labour costs
* Conduct performance reviews
* Build a positive team culture focused on safety and customer service
* Maintain exceptional customer service across all areas
* Resolve customer concerns professionally
* Promote customer‑focused behaviour among staff
* Coordinate with management, suppliers and external accountants
* Ensure compliance with WHS, fuel‑handling and environmental regulations
* Maintain safety logs, compliance records and incident reports
* Oversee food safety where relevant (Food Safety Certificate desirable)
Qualifications & Experience
* Must have a relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree.
* Minimum 1 year full‑time experience in retail management or a supervisory retail role.
* Experience in fuel/convenience retail highly desirable.
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Beacon POS and back‑office systems.
* Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
* Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Strong communication, leadership and customer service skills.
* Physically capable of manual handling and long periods of standing.
* Flexibility to work rotational weekends, morning/evening shifts and occasional after‑hours call‑outs.
