2. About this role
2.1 Why we're hiring a COO / VP Operations
As BoardOutlook scales globally, we are hiring a Vice President of Operations to help architect the next phase of the company's growth. This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role at a high-growth SaaS company, where operational excellence directly enables strategic execution.
You will lead core operations and business functions — including finance, legal, HR, compliance, and risk — and ensure the company runs with the systems, governance, and discipline needed to scale confidently. This role sits at the heart of how the business operates and grows.
We're looking for an experienced operator who has been through the 50-100 person growth transition. You need to bring sound judgment, strong financial acumen, and the ability to build what's needed before it breaks. You'll partner closely with the CEO and executive team to drive clarity, accountability, and high performance across the organisation.
2.2 Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement the internal infrastructure that powers finance, legal, HR, compliance, and security operations globally.
* Own budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and investor-ready financial models and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and employment obligations across all jurisdictions.
* Lead risk management, privacy, and security programs, including ISO, SOC2, and GDPR.
* Act as company secretary and manage governance systems and legal documentation.
* Drive operational planning, resource forecasting, and cost control across business units.
* Implement automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and execution speed.
* Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO on financial, commercial, and operational priorities.
* Lead and develop high-performing finance, legal, and compliance team.
* Act as the operational point of escalation.
3. About you
You are a proven operator - with 10+ years experience - who has scaled a SaaS or technology business through the 50-100 person growth stage, bringing structure and governance while maintaining agility. You combine commercial acumen with operational discipline and a collaborative, forward-looking leadership style.
You will also bring:
* Experience leading cross-functional operations a SaaS or tech environment.
* Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and commercial models.
* Proven experience across finance, legal, HR, and risk functions.
* Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and capital planning.
* Demonstrated ability to build operational frameworks that support product, engineering, and sales functions.
* Experience in the leading and management of due diligence, capital raises, and investor reporting cycles.
* Experience implementing governance, compliance, and security frameworks - including, but limited to; ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and global data privacy legislation.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing, multi-regional teams.
* High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
4. Location
This is a full-time global role. We have offices in both Melbourne, Australia and London, United Kingdom and we are welcoming applications in both Locations.
We work flexibly, but expect regular collaboration across time zones and international travel for key meetings and events. Sporadic travel throughout the year may be required.

5. Compensation
Our compensation package for this role is $220k + Super + Long-Term Incentive. We offer a generous ESOP (share option) grant for permanent employees. The ESOP gives employees meaningful financial participation and upside in the success of the business.
