1. Consolidate and evolve our approach to understanding community needs and delivering our community infrastructure.
2. Advocate for our community infrastructure and lead the implementation of the CIP Plan.

This means we needto continue to plan for, and think differently, about how wedevelop our built environment so that our community have access tospaces which are safe, functional and sustainable.
As theHead of Community Infrastructure Planning you will be shaping thefuture of the City of Armadale and leading the way in provision ofcommunity infrastructure outcomes.
Thissignificant and impactful role is about engaging robust strategiesto understand, advocate and deliver community infrastructure whichmeets our future needs.

The City hasbeen laying the foundations for this growth through land use planssuch as the Armadale Strategic Metropolitan Centre Structure Plan,which will guide and govern future land use within the ArmadaleCity Centre. We have some cool projects being built (checkout our Planned Capital Works in the 4 year budget in your sparetime – it’s amazing). In addition, we have over$1.6B worth of assets which are continually being enhanced throughour Asset Management Plans.
In the lastyear, we have invested $12.4M in capital works which has seensignificant benefits to the community. And we are not doneyet. Our capital investment will be an average of $37.4M perannum over the next 4 years.
Whatyou will be working on
Leading ateam of committed CIP professionals and working across a largerange of stakeholder groups, you will look to continuallyunderstand and integrate our community needs into our strategic andannual planning processes.

Continually look toUnderstand: Identify our community needs through robustengagement and analysis of social research.
DeliverCollaborative Projects: Coordinate the design,advocate and deliver projects with external stakeholders whichmeets our future needs and aspirations.
Leada High Performing Team : Create and lead multidisciplinaryand diverse internal and external teams that interact seamlesslywith the organisation and other parties to deliver communityinfrastructure outcomes.
Provide InnovativeSolutions: Identify and capitalise on opportunities toinnovate, ensuring the delivery of highly complex projects whichleverage grant funding opportunities.
Evolve andIntegrate: We are looking to improve how our CIP processesare integrated to other governance, financial and projectframeworks and create a fit for purpose CIP strategy to deliver forour community.
LeadStrategic Advocacy: Elevate the City’s influence indecision-making forums, shaping impactful public policies, researchand outcomes.
To beSuccessful you will Need
4. Leadership of a team who work in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated experience in successfully advocating for investment into community initiatives, infrastructure and projects.
6. Extensive experience in managing planning and development projects in government or private practice.
7. Tertiary Qualifications in Planning, Community Development, Social Planning or Recreation.
