About the Role
You will supervise, train, develop and mentor a small work crew of Gardens and Maintenance Workers engage on improving the presentation of gardens, vacant allotments, verges and public areas - managed by our clients and partners - who currently include Renewal SA and the City of Playford LGA.
As a Green Door Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:
* Supervising, mentoring, and training participants in practical, hands-on activities including woodwork, gardening, horticulture, and the safe use of hand tools.
* Ensuring a strong culture of WHS, deliver toolbox talks and deliver SOP (Standard Operating Procedure training).
* Providing practical instruction on tasks as well as delivering these tasks.
* Assist in planning daily tasks and long-term projects in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
* Supporting a diverse range of participants with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
* Monitor attendance, performance, and wellbeing and report concerns to line manager and supporting staff.
* Location: Smithfield base with crew working in other parts of the Playford LGA
* Employment Type: Casual/On Call
About You
We're seeking someone who is:
* Experienced in supervising or mentoring individuals, ideally with support needs or barriers to employment
* Skilled in the use of basic hand and garden tools and machinery
* Knowledgeable about Work Health and Safety practices
* Compassionate, supportive, and passionate about helping others succeed
* Able to communicate clearly and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

What skills and experience will you need to possess to be successful in this role?
* Must hold First Aid certificate or be willing to obtain;
* Ride on Mower experience required or willingness to obtain with Workskil Australia's support;
* Basic hand and garden tools and machinery experience;
* Experience in training adults and supporting a diverse range of job seekers;
* Knowledge of WHS workplace requirements and managing WHS policies and procedures
* White Card (SA Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain.
