About the Role
We are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge mining, tunnelling, and infrastructure projects, gaining hands-on experience in system design, installation, and maintenance.
You will work closely with senior engineers and project teams to develop your technical skills and industry knowledge in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for mining, tunnelling and infrastructure projects.
* Assist in the 3D Modelling and drafting of mechanical components and assemblies using Inventor.
* Support the development of detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for manufacturing and site installation.
* Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical designs.
* Collaborate withs senior engineers to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and compliance standards.
* Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems,
* Analyse mechanical drawings and specifications to determine material, labour and resource requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electricians and safety personnel.
* Ensure compliance with Australian standards, safety regulations and industry best practices.
* Assist in troubleshooting faults and system inefficiencies.
* Participate in risk assessments and safety reviews
* Review and maintain job costs to ensure alignment with budget and time allocations.
Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Strong academic foundation in mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and materials science.
* Knowledge of Auto CAD, Inventor or similar engineering software.
* Familiarity with 3D modelling, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
* Ability to interpret and produce mechanical drawings in accordance with Australian Standards.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Willingness to work in a workshop environment and attend customer sites.
