About the role
Northside Eye Specialists' is seeking an experienced part-time Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join our team in our Chermside location. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients and our ophthalmic surgeons.
What you'll be doing
1. Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner
2. Schedule appointments, manage booking calendars, and handle patient inquiries
3. Perform medical billing and booking surgery
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical files
5. Assist with general office tasks, such as answering phones and scanning.
6. Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment for the entire healthcare team
7. Adhering to company policies at all times
What we're looking for
1. Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service-oriented role within a healthcare setting
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, doctors, and colleagues in a warm and professional manner
3. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail
4. Previous experience in an ophthalmology will be highly regarded
5. Previous experience with Genie is preferred however we will consider applicants with other medical software experience
6. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
7. Commitment to providing the highest level of patient care and customer service
8. A positive can do attitude, team player and willingness to learn.
9. Ability to cover sick and holiday leave
10. The position is permanent part time over 3 days per week 7.45am - 5pm Monday to Wednesday however we will consider a job share arrangement for two separate candidates. This could be either a pm or a 12.00pm -5pm. There may be an opportunity to increase hours in the future as our practice grows further.
