Primary objective
Provide efficient and effective, high-level administration support and coordination with the Alice Springs Language Centre Leadership team
and the language teaching staff. Program coordination with principal on financial matters ensuring obligations are met. Undertake front
office operations. Assist the principal with the day-to-day functioning of the ASLC.

Context statement
Alice Springs Language Centre (ASLC) teaches languages in all Alice Springs Government Schools. These schools have multicultural and
multilingual students. This position works in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing deadlines and priorities where issues arise
daily and deal with challenging and sensitive topics. It requires a person who is experienced, well organised, adaptable, and able to work
under pressure.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level administrative support to assist the Leadership Team in meeting the operational needs of the Language Centre,

ensuring high level correspondence and maintenance of accurate records.
2. Assist the Business Manager with financial management of the school, including processing purchase orders using Ci Anywhere,

producing reports, data entry of invoices, obtaining quotes and placing online orders.
3. Co-ordinate the delivery of Language Centre activities and events, including liaising with stakeholders.
4. Develop and maintain spreadsheets for various school requirements such as budgets, word processing, data entry, administrative and

other tasks as directed.
5. Manage the Language Centre marketing strategies including social media, communications with schools and community and ensure

accurate promotion of events and initiatives.
6. Oversee all front office reception duties, first aid, WHS and timetable. Manage ICT services such as laptops and iPads and provide

troubleshooting for staff.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in administrative roles at a senior level, excellent organisational skills, ability to work independently, manage

multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ICT services including mobile devices, desktop, laptop and iPads, video and

teleconferencing software such as Microsoft Teams, with the ability to troubleshoot and escalate faults.
3. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and maintaining high levels of confidentiality

pertaining to staff, student, and the public from a range of cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds.
4. Demonstrated successful experience working with a range of IT resources, software and computer applications, Excel, Ci Anywhere,

social media platforms and websites.
5. Knowledge of the Acts and Regulations and other associated NT Government processes and procedures or the ability to obtain.

1. Certificate in Business Administration of similar
