The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager – Metallurgist to join our team. This is a technical, client-facing role suited to a metallurgist who thrives on building strong customer relationships while optimising plant performance.
You will be responsible for managing key accounts across the region, providing on-site technical support, and delivering tailored chemical solutions, particularly in thickener optimisation and the application of flocculants and polymers.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow key customer accounts across mineral processing operations
* Provide on-site metallurgical and process support to optimise thickener performance
* Oversee the selection, trialling, and optimisation of flocculants and polymer applications
* Monitor plant performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement
* Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
* Identify new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts
* Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to operational and management teams
* Work collaboratively with internal technical and commercial teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in metallurgy within mineral processing operations
* Demonstrated experience in account management or customer-facing technical roles
* Strong practical experience in thickener control and optimisation
* Proven knowledge of flocculants and polymer chemistry applications
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* The ability to work autonomously and manage a regional territory
* A current driver's licence
* Full and unrestricted work rights within Australia (applicants must already have the right to live and work in Australia)

Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
