About the OPPORTUNITY We have a great opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Red Ochre Program based at Edinburgh Parks - SA, reporting to the Software Architect. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight. You will be responsible for completing your own engineering activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions, and where applicable regulatory requirements. You may also provide leadership to a small team and/or mentoring to other team members. Key responsibilities include: Undertake all assigned Software Engineering activities, including related documentation, in accordance with project directives and standards, and the lifecycle stage of the project. Provide regular status updates to relevant supervisors, as required. Provide guidance, mentoring, and/or leadership to junior software engineers in their activities, where applicable. Lead a small team of software engineers to deliver an allocated package of work, where applicable. About YOU Experience in C++, C# is considered desirable. Experience working with embedded systems and hardware is considered desirable. A relevant tertiary qualification in IT is considered desirable, with a Mechatronics degree preferred. Defense security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 clearance. Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations. Our Commitment We believe in hiring for potential.
