Job description:
THIS OPENS THE DOOR TO YOUR FUTURE: OUR OPPORTUNITY
As a Production Engineer, you will be a key member of our Engineering team, responsible for developing technical solutions from concept through to production. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our products are designed, documented and delivered to meet required specifications, quality standards and manufacturing efficiency.
You will work closely with Production, Product Management, Sales and external partners to provide technical support across a broad range of products, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturability, serviceability and cost efficiency.
This role will be heavily involved in automatic sliding door operators and selected door hardware products, while also providing exposure to a broad range of products across the dormakaba group.
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to an engineer who enjoys working across product, process and quality, and who values collaboration between the shopfloor and office-based teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Develop technical solutions from concept through to final documentation
* Plan and prepare production tasks for new products and special projects
* Perform product and process quality checks and analysis
* Coordinate technical requirements with internal teams, suppliers and customers
* Collect, analyse and evaluate technical data to support reporting and decision-making
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturability, serviceability and efficiency
* Ensure all technical work complies with safety, legislative and quality standards
YOUR SKILLS
Key skills that we are looking for:
* Experience working across mechanical systems, project planning, or electronics/control systems (essential)
* 3+ years' experience in a similar production, manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong technical aptitude with electromechanical systems
* Demonstrated experience using CAD/CAM systems such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
* Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP (preferred but not essential)
* Experience with configurable products is highly beneficial
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
* A proactive, customer-oriented approach with strong communication skills
* High level of accuracy, conscientiousness and attention to detail
Qualifications:
* Engineering Degree in Mechatronics is preferred
* Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical qualifications will also be considered
A pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening will be required.
