SUMMARY
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance, and municipal services across communities managed by Yilli Rreung Housing. Working closely with the Works Foreman and Operations Manager, the role ensures housing and infrastructure assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Undertake repairs and maintenance works including carpentry, painting, plumbing, fencing, roofing, tiling, welding, and gyprocking.
2. Complete maintenance tasks efficiently, cost-effectively, and within agreed timeframes.
3. Safely operate and maintain vehicles, tools, machinery, and safety equipment.
4. Work collaboratively with the Works Foreman, Operations Manager, and other departments as required.
5. Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, building standards, and relevant legislation.
6. Maintain professional standards of workmanship, conduct, and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Relevant qualification, trade certificate, or demonstrated experience in maintenance or construction.
2. Experience undertaking general repairs and maintenance work.
3. Strong understanding of WHS practices.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities.
6. Current driver's licence; additional licences (e.g. working at heights, forklift, truck) desirable.
7. Willingness to obtain a Police Clearance and OCHRE Card.
