Job Summary
AECOM’s Infrastructure Advisory team is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Economist to join the team based in Melbourne. Our team contributes to the planning and delivery of projects in the transport, energy and water sectors, and has worked on projects such as the economic assessment of phasing out coal powered electricity, traffic congestion easing programs and Level Crossing Removals projects.

As a Senior Economist at AECOM your work will involve:
* Delivering advisory services including business case development, financial and economic analysis, strategic advice, feasibility advice and infrastructure prioritisation
* Developing reports and presentations to communicate findings to a range of stakeholders, including government and private clients in a variety of sectors
* Leading and managing projects and supporting team members to learn and develop
* Contributing to proposals and other business development activities to support the Infrastructure Advisory and wider AECOM teams.
You will have opportunities to work with other advisory teams within AECOM such as the Urbanisation and Planning, Transport Planning, Asset Management and Environment teams and the wider AECOM business. You will be able to work on large multidisciplinary projects through project delivery, project management, the development of relationships with key clients, business support and partake in various committees.
Minimum Requirements
You will have demonstrated competencies in providing technically informed advisory services, including strong report production and analytical (including excel) skills, and a passion for developing client relationships and helping to win work.
You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Strong technical proficiency in economic modelling (e.g. cost benefit analysis) and financial assessments of infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport sector
* Understand the requirements of State and Federal government funding processes such as business case development and applications
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to clearly and effectively report technical outcomes to a wide range of stakeholders from different backgrounds to communicate complex concepts in a way that everyone understands
* Strong presentation and organisational skills, and willingness to articulate analytical outcomes and options to clients, stakeholders and project team partners
* Experience leading projects, client interface and following up business opportunities
* A keen focus on your own development and retaining a high level of technical skill
* Ability to demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
The expectations of this role are similar to those of a Manager role at a Big 4 Consulting company.
Preferred Qualifications
As a member of the Infrastructure Advisory team you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, transport economics, finance and/or engineering disciplines. Experience working within consulting is ideal, although government or other relevant sectors may be suitable.
