The role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely communication support during emergency incidents
- Support operational crews through effective coordination and information management
- Maintain clear communication between responders, partner agencies and stakeholders
- Assist in ensuring all communications and operations systems run smoothly
Key Tasks
- Operate radio and telecommunications equipment (base station and field radios)
- Assist in coordinating emergency responses with operational personnel and partner agencies (e.g., DFES, Police)
- Map and log requests for assistance
- Create and maintain visual operations boards
- Maintain accurate incident records and information management systems
- Ensure communications and operations equipment is maintained and ready for use
- Adapt quickly to changing circumstances during incidents
- Provide support within the operations room using computer-based systems

Type Of Work: Safety & Emergency Services
Time Required: Training occurs weekly on a Monday night, attendance at least 3 Monday Nights per month when available.
Training: Training in radio communications is provided, with access to specialist courses. Some weekend training is required. Ongoing attendance at training and skill development is expected, with all training delivered at no cost to you.
