Archery Australia (AA) is recognised by World Archery and Australian government at all levels as the national body for the sport of Archery in Australia. Archery Australia partners with the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia to prepare athletes to represent Australia every four years in Olympic and Paralympic teams.

Based at the AIS Archery Centre in Canberra, the Archery Australia Centre of Excellence (COE) supports the continuous development of identified athletes and coaches in the High Performance Program. As part of its commitment to winning well and developing athletes both in sport and life, Archery Australia is seeking an Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Lead to join the High Performance team.

About the role

The Athlete Wellbeing & Engagement (AW&E) Lead plays a critical role in supporting Australia's Olympic and Paralympic archers to thrive in high performance sport and beyond. Reporting to the General Manager Performance, you will lead the development and implementation of Archery Australia's Wellbeing Operational Plan, ensuring wellbeing is embedded within the high-performance environment.

Working closely with coaches, performance support staff, and system partners, you will provide strategic guidance and tailored support to athletes, helping them balance performance, wellbeing, education, career development, and life beyond sport.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Lead and implement Archery Australia's Wellbeing Operational Plan, aligned with the High Performance Strategy.
* Develop and oversee wellbeing and education frameworks across the decentralised program and the Canberra Centre of Excellence for able-bodied and Para athletes.
* Provide proactive, tailored wellbeing support to athletes during high-risk periods such as injury, non-selection, major transitions, and significant life events.
* Provide on-ground support for athletes living at or training from the Centre of Excellence.
* Create and monitor individual wellbeing plans that balance performance goals with education, career, and personal development.
* Work as an integrated member of the performance team, building strong partnerships across Australian Institute of Sport (AIS)/ Australian Sports Commission (ASC), National Institution Network (NIN), and community organisations.

About you

Archery Australia is seeking a people-centered, compassionate, and respectful wellbeing professional who can build trust and influence within a high-performance environment. You will bring:

1. Demonstrated background in social work, psychology, wellbeing, education or a related field.
2. Proven experience in case management, triage, and referral processes within sport or a high-performance setting.
3. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing wellbeing or learning frameworks.
4. Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
5. Experience supporting athletes through transitions, career development, and life beyond sport.
