About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated legal professional to make a meaningful difference by providing expert legal assistance to some of Queensland's most vulnerable individuals. In this role, you will be at the forefront of advocacy and justice, representing clients in NDIS Appeals and Administrative Law matters through case preparation, advocacy, and appearances in courts, tribunals, and mediations. You will provide legal advice and task assistance, collaborate on law reform initiatives, and guide team members on complex legal issues. This role addresses intricate legal problems, helps reshape policies, and contributes to innovative practices that improve access to justice for vulnerable Queenslanders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Proven expertise in Administrative Law and NDIS Appeals.
Experience independently representing clients across a range of legal forums.
Strong communication skills, particularly with clients experiencing complex vulnerabilities or trauma.
A commitment to social justice and the ability to apply the principles of trauma-informed practice.
Admission or eligibility for admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland, alongside an unrestricted practising certificate.
Resilience, professional integrity, and a true passion for helping others navigate challenging legal terrains.
Responsibilities
Provide expert legal assistance to clients in NDIS Appeals and Administrative Law matters.
Prepare cases, advocate for clients, and appear in courts, tribunals, and mediations.
Offer legal advice and task support; collaborate on law reform initiatives.
Mentor and guide team members on complex legal issues.
Qualifications
Admission or eligibility for admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland, with an unrestricted practising certificate.
Demonstrated experience in Administrative Law and NDIS Appeals; ability to represent clients across multiple forums.
Working Arrangements & Benefits
36.25 hour working week (full-time).
