About the Project
ACCIONA delivers major rail upgrades as part of the Southern Program Alliance, removing level crossings and improving safety and reliability across Melbourne's Frankston line. The program upgrades stations, rail infrastructure and surrounding precincts, creating long term improvements for local communities.
The Position
Reporting to the Alliance Project Assurance Manager, the Senior System Engineer is responsible for ensuring engineering system designs comply with project requirements, standards and assurance processes. The role supports systems integration, requirements management, Safety in Design, and quality governance, ensuring engineering deliverables are safe, compliant, verified and ready for assurance acceptance. You will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams and a wide range of stakeholders to manage requirements, support assurance activities and provide specialist systems engineering expertise across a complex rail environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead systems engineering and requirements management activities across the project lifecycle
* Develop and implement Systems Architecture and System Breakdown Structures (SBS)
* Manage project requirements within IBM DOORS Next and associated workflows
* Facilitate configuration and change management processes
* Participate in technical and design reviews
* Prepare Project Assurance Reports for compliance and assurance acceptance
* Provide technical advice and assure the competence of engineering staff and contractors
Required Skills and Competencies
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in systems engineering and assurance within major infrastructure projects
* Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering standards, including ISO/IEC 15288 and ISO/IEC 24748
* Experience in rail systems engineering, assurance or safety engineering preferred
* Drivers Licence
