£70k – £80k (commensurate with experience), mostly onsite role in Southampton.
Position Overview
A world‐renowned electronics manufacturer is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain a brand‐new system. The role focuses on processor design and communication interfaces, and requires leading technical projects while working autonomously.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and maintenance of embedded software for a brand‐new system. Design processor architectures and communication interfaces. Work independently on new projects and provide technical leadership.
Requirements
* Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Maths, Physics or a related field
* 10+ years of commercial embedded software experience
* Excellent firmware RTOS experience
* Good commercial Serial Communications experience (RS232, RS422, TCP/IP, etc.)
* Experience with testing embedded code is highly desirable
