About the role
The Veterinary Nurse Leader is responsible for leading a cohesive and high-performing veterinary nursing team within a premier Emergency, Referral, General Practice and Teaching Hospital. This role involves rostering, hands-on clinical work and close collaboration with management to ensure excellent patient care, team development, and the implementation of hospital policies, procedures, and training.
This role involves shift work including evenings, weekends and public holidays to support our 24/7 emergency and critical care services.
What we’re looking for
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing; or Bachelor in Veterinary Technology with practical experience
* Diploma level qualifications in Emergency & Critical Care (desirable but not essential)
* Experience in emergency or critical care nursing
* Previous experience in a leadership or senior position (desirable not but essential)
* Experience with mentoring, training and guiding a nursing team.
* A calm and confident approach in high-pressure situations.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
* A commitment to providing compassionate and exceptional patient care.
