Graduate Mine Geologist role at Vault Minerals, Darlot Gold Mine, offers hands-on technical experience, FIFO roster, and career growth in a energetic, expanding gold mining company.
Your role
Responsibilities
Assisting with underground mapping and sampling to minimise ore loss and dilution and increase geological understanding of the deposit
Completing stope and airleg inspections
Learning to provide mining direction to ensure optimal ore position for stoping
Ensuring all data captured is recorded accurately
Assisting in entry of production data and preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports
Liaising with Mine Geologists to assist with ROM ore stockpile management to optimise the blend into the Process Plant
Reporting daily grade control activities
Undertaking diamond core processing, including logging, mark-up and orientation, sampling, and other related measurements
Working closely with experienced professionals to build a solid industry foundation and gain exposure to a broad range of technical and practical tasks
About you
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Geology (essential)
Current C-class WA driver's licence
Ability to observe safety rules and regulations
Good physical health
Organised, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision
Ability to work as part of a small and autonomous team
Effective communication skills with staff at all levels
Vacation work experience within the mining industry, ideally within gold mining, is highly regarded
