Svenson Barristers' is seeking an experienced Barristers' Clerk to join our team in our Melbourne office. This is a full-time, permanent position that will play a vital role in the smooth running of our business. As a Barristers' Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting with the promotion, administrative and organisational aspects of our barristers' work, ensuring they can focus on delivering exceptional outcomes to their briefing solicitors and clients.

What you’ll be doing
Liaising with solicitors on email and phone to manage barrister diaries and processing booking requests
Recommending counsel to solicitors via emails and phone calls
Meeting with barristers to help them plan and achieve their practice goals
Meeting with solicitors and industry leads to enhance work opportunities for barristers
Providing administrative support to the barristers as required
Assisting with the planning and execution of continued professional development and networking events for solicitors and barristers
Assisting with the marketing of barristers
Representing the business and our barristers as a brand ambassador for Svenson Barristers at occasional events
What we’re looking for
Experience working as a Barristers' Clerk, lawyer, or in a similar legal administration or sales role
Preference will be given to candidates who have law degrees or with legal administration experience if direct Barristers' Clerk experience is not available
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both barristers and solicitors
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (ideally additional skills in LinkedIn, Canva, Eventbrite, Mail Chimp)
Knowledge of legal practice procedures, Court processes and legal compliance requirements
Proactive, adaptable, team player, committed to providing exceptional customer service
