Regional Local Government | Flood & Drainage Projects | Flexible Working | 6 to 12 Month Contracts Your new Local Council We are partnering with a regional local government to engage a Senior or experienced Drainage Engineer on a temporary basis between 612 months to support a period of increased workload following recent flood events and the delivery of grantfunded flood mitigation projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful community infrastructure, with flexibility around hours and work location. Your new role You will support the delivery of flood studies, levee investigations and drainage projects, with a strong focus on technical oversight, consultant coordination and stakeholder engagement rather than handson design or modelling. Coordinate external consultants delivering flood modelling and levee design work Support flood mitigation projects, including levee design and investigation activities Review and interpret flood modelling outputs and technical reports Investigate drainage and flooding complaints and provide engineering responses Undertake site inspections and contribute to project scoping and delivery Liaise with community members, internal stakeholders and external agencies Assist with preparation of technical reports for management and governance What you'll need to succeed Background in civil, drainage, flood or water engineering Experience working in or with local government or public infrastructure environments Strong understanding of urban drainage systems and flood mitigation principles Comfortable managing consultants and engaging with community and stakeholders Able to work independently while supporting an established engineering team What you'll get in return Temporary role minimum 12 months (extension possible, projectdependent) Hybrid work available (some onsite presence required) Paying between $65 - $75 p/h super What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV or send direct to Alissa.Sara@hays.com.au.
