Priority Projects Officer

- Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role: until 30 June 2027
- Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Priority Projects Officer plays a vital role in the Office of the Executive Director, providing high quality advice and support for special projects, coordinating cross-cutting activities across the Branch, including with the Office of the Deputy Secretary, and delivering both internal and external priorities.

- Contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of high-priority projects, new programs and initiatives within the branch.
- Provide high-level authoritative advice on complex and sensitive issues to senior management and key stakeholders, and support the Executive Director with requests and departmental priorities as they arise, including Parliamentary, central agency and Ministerial requests, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent responses, in collaboration with Branch executive.
- Support the Executive Director's participation in high-level, cross-departmental committees and meetings, and external stakeholder and speaking engagements.

The position of Priority Projects Officer forms a part of the Industry, Trade and Investment in the Trade, Global Engagement and International Education and Migration

The Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. ITI harnesses specialist knowledge of key industries and global markets to develop Victoria's priority sectors, boost trade activities, enhance productivity and contribute to economic growth.

About You

The successful candidate should ideally have the following skills and experience:

- Demonstrated experience in project management and ability to coordinate multiple activities or projects simultaneously and collaboratively, with a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting briefings, reports, internal communications, meeting notes or other materials in a government or complex organisational setting.
- Proven ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, exercising sound judgement, professionalism and discretion.
