I-LEC is a privately owned North Queensland business, based in Cairns and Townsville. We specialise in electrical & civil infrastructure projects including traffic signal/road lighting/ITS construction and maintenance, electrical underground distribution, as well as a diverse range of other industrial and commercial electrical and civil works.
We currently have a full-time vacancy for a Store person at our Cairns Workshop in Portsmith.
The role is offered as full time (Monday to Friday), although we will consider part-time or flexible hours if desired.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Using a forklift to load/unload/rearrange stock - Forklift & Drivers licence essential
* Loading and unloading trucks and vehicles
* Perform daily housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and organisation in the yard
* Some deliveries to sites
* Ensuring warehouse and hardstand areas are clean and organised
* Stock control
* Assisting with coordination of vehicle and plant maintenance, as well as completing minor maintenance tasks
* Operate mechanical equipment & hand tools for manufacturing pipe products, and recycling salvaged materials
The ideal candidates ideally will:
* Have previous store man or yard experience desirable, but not essential
* Hold a current drivers licence, preferably an MR licence or above
* Hold OHS Construction Industry Induction (white card)
* Be of honest and reliable character
* Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices
* The ability to work independently and autonomously, as well as in a team
* Positive attitude, reliable and responsible
* Be committed to long term employment
* Applicants MUST be physically fit to perform manual lifting tasks, including lifting heavy loads, shoveling, mowing, bending, reaching and repetitive tasks.
Applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment health/physical capacity assessment.
