Senior Consultant Position in Canberra
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant to join our team in Canberra.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics and policy, with excellent analytical and communication skills. As a Senior Consultant, you will work across all aspects of our economic and public policy advisory portfolio, including:
* Developing methodologies and proposals,
* Gathering and analysing information,
* Client liaison and management,
* Research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
You will have the opportunity to develop your advisory skills in economics and public policy by undertaking complex, challenging, and high-profile engagements under the guidance of highly-skilled leaders, experts and scholars in the field.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in an appropriate quantitative or economics-based discipline (e.g., economics, statistics, mathematics, finance).
* Ability to work with or create economic models and develop insights through rigorous analysis and practical understanding of markets and incentive structures.
* At least 5+ years of experience in economics, regulation, and public policy advice in government or consulting.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
* Self-driven with the ability to work independently or in teams.
Additional desirable qualities for the role are:
* Advanced analytical skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Developed analytical skills in other analytical toolkits (e.g., R, Python, GEMPACK).
* Previous experience in relevant economic modelling areas (e.g., general-equilibrium analysis, input-output modelling, cost-benefit analysis, or demographic/workforce modelling).
