Communications Advisor
Clerk Grade: 7/8
Salary Range:$110,266 - $122,058 per annum, pro rata + superannuation
Employment Type: Temporary (up until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension), Part-time (21 hours per week - 3 days per week)
Location: McKell (Haymarket, Sydney) -with opportunities for hybrid and flexible work available.
About this role
Grow your communications skills, broaden your networks and work in the high-performing People Communications and Change Management team, within the Media and Communications directorate of Brand, Digital and Communications (BDC).
The People Communications and Change Management team designs and delivers clear internal communications to engage and to support the Department's goals and vision. We support senior DCS leadership with compelling all-staff communications, channel management and events.
About this opportunity
This opportunity will focus on supporting DCS-wide internal communications from the Secretary and Chief People Officer, and will report to the Senior Internal Communications Advisor.
It's a fantastic opportunity for a high-performing grade 7/8 who wants to broaden their experience with high-profile projects and senior stakeholders.
What you'll be doing
* Working with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts to draft engaging, high quality copy for internal channels including newsletters, leader emails, and internal socials.
* Building and publishing digital content on platforms including Campaign Monitor (email) and SharePoint.
* Using project management skills, processes and systems (e.g. MS Planner) to plan and effectively deliver timely communications for our customers.
What we need from you
* Clear and engaging copy-writing, including tailoring copy for internal audiences across a variety of channel formats.
* Experience in internal communications.
* A can-do attitude and commitment to learn new skills and develop your strengths.
* Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
* Previous experience with digital email (eg. Campaign Monitor) and SharePoint/Intranet platforms is desirable but not essential.
