Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly‐owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS) that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport, and medical communications operations throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Reporting to the Manager of Logistics, Facilities & Materials Management, the System Support Technician Logistics (SSTL) Student provides essential logistical support for EHS systems, maintains infrastructure and supplies at Paramedic Base Stations, and assists with general repair, maintenance, and stocking duties across the operational region.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Operate all system vehicles in accordance with EMC and EHS policies.
* Maintain proper documentation for EHS supply chain, materials management, and facility inspection activities.
* Assist in stocking and managing paramedic supply stations to meet established "min/max" inventory levels.
* Inspect Paramedic Base Stations, complete light facility repairs, maintenance, and property grooming as directed.
* Comply with EMC System Support Safe Work Practices (SWP's) and all other company policies and procedures.
* Perform general repairs at Paramedic Base Stations—including cleaning, painting, lighting repairs, and other maintenance tasks.
* Ensure logistics system vehicles are inspected, maintained, stocked, and ready per EMC policies.
* Clean logistics vehicles, including interior and exterior, following decontamination policies as required.
* Assist with ongoing cleanliness of the Logistics Central or Eastern Stock Depot during scheduled shifts.
* Demonstrate professional conduct with vendors, colleagues, paramedics, and the public.
* Perform any additional related duties as required or assigned.
* Take operational instruction from the Manager or designated supervisor.
* Back‐fill the Fleet System Support Technician (SST) when required.
Education / Experience
* Minimum Grade 12.
* Hold a valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver's License in good standing with a clean Drivers Abstract.
* Possess WHMIS, First Aid, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification, or be willing to obtain and maintain them.
* Class 5 license required; operating oversize vehicles (pick‐up truck, panel/cube van) is an asset.
Knowledge & Skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Good decision‐making skills and initiative.
* Familiarity with small engine machines such as gas or electric‐powered push lawnmower, weed whacker, and pressure washer (training will be provided).
Physical Requirements
* Irregular work schedule, shift work, and overtime as needed.
* Work in paramedic base stations, hospitals, fleet/logistics centers, and remote areas.
* Operate in adverse weather conditions and for long periods in the sun.
* Stand for extended periods; sit or drive for long stretches.
* Lift between 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and 22.5 kg (50 lbs).
